    YIKES...

Yeah its been forever since I sat down and let you all know how Ive been doing. Well, lets just say, I no longer have possession of the Secret Agent. My daughter swiped it from me one Saturday during her junior league when her Special Agent wasnt working the way she wanted. I havent seen it since. LOL! (her Special Agent is collecting dust in the garage currently, with about 20 games on it, ugh)

Unfortunately, it never really worked for me. So I went back to using my PAIN. It works for her tho. As a freshman, she made Varsity, and was the #2 girl on the team. Their season is long over now, but I could not have been more proud of her. She finished 27th in Conference (only one other freshman higher than her), and at sectionals 18th (of 75girls with no freshman ahead of her).

I struggled bad after returning from 8weeks off (due to surgery), both mentally and physically. I lost the motivation to even want to go to league. But Id go anyway, with a complete "I dont want to be here" attitude, have a decent game and my attitude would change. It was rough just GETTING there, but once I was, I chilled out, and bowled.

My average tanked for a few weeks straight, so it was hard to recover late in the season. Its just a number anyway. Lately (last month or so) Ive gotten back into the swing of things, just cant seem to stay very consistant. I wonder when Im going to hit that elusive (to me anyway) 600 series. I shoot 244 and didnt see it. I guess it had something to do with the 146 and 160 I shot that same night. Last week, 230, 192, 151, OMG. By the 3rd game I couldnt hit the broadside of a barn!

Oh well, theres all summer to practice, and like they say in Chicago baseball... "Theres always NEXT YEAR!"

    IM Drilled! Finally!

Saturday, July 21, 2007, 10:33 AM CST [General]

Ive been waiting, slightly impatiently, to get my Secret Agent drilled for 2 weeks. And finally it happened.

I had mentioned before in a blog that my friend Tom seemed to think that my pitches were off. Well, after being completely refitted, Al measured up my PAIN, I owe Tom a big hug. He was right.

I dont remember all the correct lingo and exact measurements for the changes, but I can tell you this much...

    1) PAIN - 1/4" too long in the span
    2) PAIN - fingers were pitched out (?) and to the right and my grips were too big.
    3) PAIN - thumb was drilled away, and to the right
    4) PAIN - thumb was completely round and a little too big

Al corrected all that and drilled up the new ball. He teardropped the thumb a little in the direction of my release. It felt weird to say the least even to just swing it inside the proshop. It felt too snug. But Al assured me it was actually fitting the way it should. I was nervous about throwing a game with it.

I dumped the first 4 in the gutter, but Al was right there and said I needed to relax in the ball. I didnt have to "hold on" anymore. I got the hang of it, but its going to take some time and alot of practice...

Hey there Amy, This is going to be my first regional I have bowled. I just got my PBA card Last month. Joliet will be my first toury. The best part of it is that about 30 years ago I start bowling at Joliet T&C and now I will start my pro bowling at the same place.
